Outdoor signage fails for three reasons: water gets in, wind pulls it off the wall, or the mounting was wrong for the wall in the first place. We specify all three before we quote — material, IP rating and fixing method — so the sign is still working in year five.
Outdoor sign types
- Channel letters — front lit, back lit and halo lit for shop fronts and building fascias.
- Light box signs — slim cabinets for entrances, canopies and menus.
- Pylon signs — freestanding structures for forecourts and road frontage.
- Monument signs — ground level entrance signs with cabinet and cladding.
- Fascia and roof letters — engineered frames for large letter sets.
- Non-illuminated dimensional letters — painted metal for daylight-only locations.
Weather and wind load
Tell us the city, the mounting height and the wall type, and we size the frame, brackets and fixings against the wind speed for that location with a safety factor on top.
- Coastal sites — 316 stainless fixings and sealed connections.
- Desert and high UV sites — UV stabilised acrylic and powder coat built for fading.
- Snow and storm regions — heavier frames and fewer unsupported spans.
Waterproofing and IP ratings
Our standard outdoor range is IP65. For exposed or coastal positions we use IP67 or IP68 drivers and connectors, and every cable entry is sealed with a gland or resin rather than a bare hole.
Mounting and structure
- Brick and concrete — anchor bolts or chemical fixings to your substrate.
- Metal cladding and curtain wall — brackets designed to avoid crushing the panel.
- Roof letters — steel frame with calculated fixing points.
- We supply a paper template for each letter group so the installer works to the same layout we used.
Power and control
- 110V or 220V input with the correct driver for your market.
- Low voltage 24V DC distribution through the letters.
- Optional timer, photocell or dimming so the sign runs only when it needs to.
Compliance for US and EU projects
We supply UL listed drivers for US projects and CE / RoHS compliant components for Europe, and we can provide the technical documents your inspector or client asks for.
Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate wind load?
We size the frame and fixings against the wind speed for your city and mounting height, with a safety factor on top.
Are your outdoor signs waterproof?
The standard outdoor range is IP65, and we use IP67 or IP68 drivers and connectors for coastal and exposed locations.
Can the sign be 110V for the US market?
Yes — we supply UL listed LED drivers in 110V or 220V, whichever your site uses.
What is the warranty on outdoor signage?
3 years on LED modules and drivers, with replacement parts shipped free within the warranty period.
Do you install, or do we?
